Elizabeth Habte Wold

b. 1963, Ethiopia

Elizabeth Habte Wold completed degrees in fine arts at the School of Fine Arts in Addis Ababa and Baltimore City Community College in Maryland before receiving an MFA from Howard University. She also completed a certificate program at George Washington University in interactive multimedia and web design, where she developed a long-standing interest in digital media. Since the mid-1990s Wold has worked as a multimedia designer and recently returned to live in Addis Ababa.

On April 30, on the occasion of the opening of Ethiopian Passages: Dialogues in the Diaspora, curator Elizabeth Harney asked Elizabeth to comment on her work in relation to the exhibition's theme of relocation and diaspora.
