Discover firsthand the art of the masquerade! In diverse regions across Africa and the world, masquerade plays a vital role for communities, often marking cultural or spiritual milestones. Join us for live demonstrations of these incredible art forms! The Liberia-founded and Maryland-based Dehkontee Artists Theatre, Inc., will perform masquerades inspired by Mande- and Kwa-speaking groups from Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone.
