Join the National Museum of African Art for the exclusive D.C. premiere of 2017’s SXSW-selected film The Price (USA, 91 min., English and Yoruba)! The film follows first generation Nigerian-American Seyi Ogunde (Aml Ameen) in a quintessentially American story of success, love, and family. As the young financier’s ambition increasingly pulls him down a criminal path, Seyi must confront the ways in which his complex cultural identities shape, mold, and influence his choices. A Q&A session with director Anthony Onah and lead actor Aml Ameen, moderated by host of Pacifica Radio’s “Africa Now!” Mwiza Munthali, will follow the 6 p.m. screening. Can’t make the first screening at 6? The Price will be shown a second time at 9 p.m.
