Director, writer, and producer Shirikiana Aina will introduce the film, followed by a panel discussion featuring Nataki Kambon, CEO of Let’s Buy Black 365, Jameelah Morris, anthropology Ph.D. candidate at Stanford University, and moderator Maurice Carney, executive director of Friends of the Congo. Docent tours of the museum’s exhibition Visionary: Viewpoints on Africa’s Art will round out the afternoon.
Part of a regular Heritage Talk series, this screening and discussion allows the museum to hear directly from one of its most important audiences: D.C.’s local African diaspora community. Make your voice heard!
This program is presented in collaboration with ADACI, a cultural and educational non-profit that sponsors artistic, educational, and cultural activities in the Washington, D.C., community.
