The Children’s Africana Book Awards (CABA)

The CABA awards were created in 1991 to encourage the publication and use of books that provide culturally affirming depictions of Africa. It is an annual event where the authors and illustrators of the best children’s and young adult books on Africa are recognized.

Schedule
11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. – Interactive Activities
12:30 – 1:30 p.m. – Meet the Winners followed by Q & A session
1:30 – 2:30 p.m. – Author’s Book Signing
1:30 – 2:30 p.m. – Master Workshop “Tell It In Verse” using the novel Home is Not a Country led by Lesina Martin
