Ivory bracelets are rarely formed lengthwise from the tusk. This type is linked with the Gurunsi peoples and possibly some neighboring groups in Burkina Faso and northern Côte d’Ivoire. Among the Gurunsi they are worn by women and vary in color and in size of the arm hole.

Ivory bracelet composed of a curved rectangular section with a central round hole.

Robert and Donna Spina Helmholz, purchased in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, 1979-2012
