1) Why does the earth matter to you as an artist?

I feel that the state of the earth is a reflection of who we are as a human race.
My work reflects my response to the disjuncture between what I hope for and what is.

2) In what ways do you hope that your work in "strategies of the surface" will change perceptions of the world around us?

I am satisfied if my photographs evoke a response or feeling from the viewer. This link between photographer and viewer is a rare and subtle communication of understandings and perceptions.
