Many artists have given voice and visibility to individuals within the diaspora, allowing us to better comprehend the human dimensions of migration and resettlement. The characters that form part of Etiyé Dimma Poulsen's or Mickaël Bethe-Selassié's artistic universes or the women captured by Aida Muluneh's camera lens and present in Elisabeth Atnafu's installations give texture and substance to the experiences of diaspora. They help us determine how one defines belonging and a sense of self within a transnational contemporary world.
