On Earth Day, April 22, 2013, Gabonese artist Nathalie Mba Bikoro gave a moving performance that asked each viewer to recognize our profound interdependence with the resources of the earth and their human consequences.  Her performance is the first of three that will occur in conjunction with the exhibition, Earth Matters. Zambian artist Anawana Haloba will return to the theme of salt in a performance at the end of July 2013, and Iranian artist Reza Farkhondeh, a longtime collaborator with Egyptian artist Ghada Amer, is designing an original performance in association with the rice harvested in Ghada Amer's installation, Hunger (in Earth Works) for October 2013. Stay tuned!
